With a Pole in My Hand and a Smile on My Face

Posted on 12th Sep 2011 @ 9:26 PM

Don’t you hate it when you are sitting at home with no motivation to go out to the gym or go for a jog, even just to go out with friends you make weak excuses such as it’s raining, I’ll go tomorrow, or I’m just not feeling it today. The longer you keep this up the less motivation you have to go out.

If this sounds familiar, this is my solution for you: Pole fitness! Just like any other form of exercise, it releases endorphins that make you feel good. I practice in the morning so I am motivated and ready to take on the rest of the day with a smile on my face.

Pole DancingI have a strong belief that you need goals to give your life a sense of worth and satisfaction; this can be anything from large family goals to small personal goals. You can set pole goals for yourself start off with small moves or tricks appropriate to your level and work up, when you accomplish even the simplest goal you feel fantastic. It is so rewarding when you accomplish a move. It gives you that self confidence to excel in pole fitness and in other areas of life.

But you have too much on your mind to focus on pole dance? That’s just another weak excuse! Save a specific time of day and get all your worries out, then when you pole dance, practice your self control at the same time and just tell yourself at that moment all that exists is you and the pole, it won’t do any good worrying about outside problems, it will only prevent you from doing your best. When I learnt how to focus solely on pole dancing during my practice sessions I also found I was able to apply that in other situations outside the pole studio.

Most importantly though you must love what you do, if you do not have a passion for pole fitness and feel it is just like dragging yourself to the gym then it will not be as effective in reducing stress or motivating physical activity. My motto is Love Express Inspire, love what you do, express your true self, inspire others and allow others to inspire you.

I would love to hear comments about your own experiences with pole dance and if you find it helps motivate and keep you stress free as well.

Kayla
